Roots for Life began with a clear vision: to create a nurturing, inspiring environment where children grow with confidence, curiosity, and joy. From the very beginning, our aim has been to offer exceptional early education built on warmth, inclusion, curiosity, and high expectations because at Roots, extraordinary is that little extra.
Roots for Life Nursery in Thame was founded by Cassie Glyn Jones in September 2019. Inspired by her mother, a lifelong teacher who founded and ran her own nursery in South Africa, Cassie grew up surrounded by early education and saw first-hand the powerful impact of care, commitment, and quality teaching on young lives.
After gaining her teaching qualification, Cassie worked within the early years sector while also launching Funky Frogs, a South African dance academy. She later established Roots for Life After Care, providing wrap-around care, holiday programmes, and academic support for school-age children; All within a creative, safe, and welcoming environment.
What began with three teachers and 24 children has grown into a thriving nursery based in its own purpose-designed building. Today, Roots for Life is supported by a dedicated team of 14 passionate teachers, including four with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience in primary schools. As the nursery continues to grow and evolve, the focus remains firmly on maintaining high-quality care, strong relationships, and a rich, engaging environment for every child.
At Roots, we believe in supporting the whole child. Our approach nurtures emotional wellbeing, social confidence, and a love of learning, helping children feel secure, valued, and ready to explore the world around them. From creative experiences and outdoor play to meaningful routines and strong communication with families, every detail is thoughtfully considered as it’s often the little things that make the biggest difference.
Through every stage of growth, our commitment remains the same: to create a place where children are truly seen, supported, and inspired to be their best selves.
